Standing Up for Refugees: Community Engagement Through Thoughtful Dialogue and Actions

Saturday, April 22, 2017 - 9:00am to 12:00pm

This 3-series event will bring together local university students, educators, nonprofit leaders, and refugee voices to focus on exploring the current status and needs of refugees in the Lehigh Valley, across the U.S., and Europe. After hearing insights from a panel discussion, participants will have the opportunity to work together in groups to come up with mindful contributions to help the refugee community in the Lehigh Valley. This unique 3-part event is an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in deepening their understanding of refugee issues and wanting to take action to stand up for refugees in the Lehigh Valley and beyond.

April 8: Refugee Awareness
April 22: Local & Global Solutions
May 6: Developing Mindful Actions

Each workshop will occur from 9am-noon on Saturday, April 8, April 22, and May 6, at Lehigh University.
