Lehigh University's College of Education and the Bethlehem Area School District (BASD) partnered to present a professional development conference for regional middle level educators on November 3, 2015. The conference was designed to share excellent middle school practice—with an emphasis on student engagement.
The middle school concept proudly addresses the unique developmental and academic needs of early adolescents. Now, more than ever, middle school students need a responsive, engaging instruction that sparks an enthusiasm for learning. Middle level educators work tirelessly to connect with their students, but they also need time to connect with each other. Together, we have much to share and learn about student engagement and success.
The BASD & Lehigh University Partnership offered this comprehensive, day long conference of over 30 peer workshops specifically designed for educators with a passion for engaging middle school learners.
