Global Institute 2022

The Summer Institute offers global students the opportunity to engage with professors and fellow students in an in-person intensive learning environment. The Summer Institute runs from late-June through the middle of July every year. In-person courses are offered in a condensed schedule over 5-9 days with a 2+ day break between each course. Courses have been taught in-person in Bethlehem Pennsylvania, Athens Greece, and other international locations.

See Summer Institute News

International School Counseling Master's students take three courses each summer for two summers. International School Counseling Certificate students take two classes in one summer. Students are encouraged to take the recommended courses but may choose to take fewer classes each summer and return for additional summers.

A shared double room in a 2-3 bedroom apartment (4-6 students per apartment) is $52/night per person. Single rooms and studio apartments are not available. See ACG’s accommodation page for a list of apartment amenities.

Students are welcome to book their own hotel or private rental off campus. Early booking is encouraged because June and July are peak tourist season in Greece.

Travel

Students are responsible for confirming travel regulations prior to arriving in Greece for the Summer Institute. Some students may need to apply for a short-stay Greece Schengen Visa. See the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs list of countries that require a visa to determine if you will need to apply for a visa. ETIAS Travel Authorization for other travelers is not expected to launch until fall 2023 and should not be required ahead of the Summer Institute. Please check for covid travel requirements prior to departure as well.

Students on in-person Lehigh programs are required to meet Lehigh’s covid policy which requires a full course of a WHO-approved vaccine plus a booster, or an approved exemption. Students can upload proof of vaccine or request an exemption on their Lehigh Health and Wellness Center (HWC) profile linked below.
