Doc student Joe Pacitti: Standardized tests just one tool to measure student achievement

When we take one snapshot of one measure of achievement, we need to recognize that it probably isn't inclusive of social or emotional growth, home life, school environment or grit. Effective evaluations should not just assess mastery of certain skills. They should also act as feedback tools for students and instructors to help improve performance over time and encourage growth-focused mindsets.
