Dr. Shan Li is an Assistant Professor in the College of Health at Lehigh University and an affiliated faculty in the Teaching, Learning and Technology program in the College of Education. He received his Ph.D. in Educational Psychology (Learning Sciences) from McGill University and a M.S. in Educational Technology from Beijing Normal University.

Dr. Li is a learning scientist and educational technologist who specializes in advanced learning technologies and student problem-solving processes. His research integrates cutting-edge applications (advanced learning technologies), analytical techniques (learning analytics, machine learning, and educational data mining), and theoretical frameworks (e.g., self-regulated learning and student engagement) across both formal and informal educational settings.

His research focuses on designing technology-rich learning environments to promote learner performance and health literacy, while investigating fundamental differences in learning patterns and behavioral change processes. This work involves (1) developing advanced learning technologies for health education and STEM contexts, (2) applying learning analytics to reveal patterns in learners’ behavioral and cognitive processes, and (3) advancing theoretical research in learning sciences and health psychology.
