School Psychology alum, Hiral Vekaria, Wins the 2019 NASP Presidential Award
Jun. 12, 2019
Dr. Hiral Vekaria, Ed.S. school psychology alum, was honored with the 2019 National Association of School Psychologist (NASP) Presidential Award at the 2019 annual conference for her exceptional service to children and school psychology.
NASP President Lisa Kelly-Vance presented the award to a colleague as Dr. Vekaria was unable to attend the 2019 conference.
Hiral began her NASP leadership journey as part of the Governance Enhancement Initiative. When that role ended, she was recruited for the Leadership Development Committee and she moved quickly to chair position. In this role, she has a major responsibility in orienting new leaders to their NASP journey and, of course, leading the committee efforts. She has kept the tradition of LDC connecting with other committees, being innovative, and expanding the reach of NASP leadership. She provides leadership training at the state level as well. Hiral’s enthusiasm for NASP and our profession is obvious and we are so fortunate she is willing to provide expertise to emerging leaders.
