Flood Adventures Gameplay

Al Bodzin Invites You to Embark on "Flood Adventure"

Dr. Al Bodzin, a professor in the COE's Teaching, Learning and Technology program asks, "How would you like to play an interactive simulation game to learn about flood preparedness and safety?" Bodzin's team is looking for volunteers to help them analyze the effectiveness of "Flood Adventure."

In this game, you will be challenged to respond quickly to an emergency flood situation. Your experience begins with a brief video about the rising risk of localized flooding, then moves to a simulation where you must gather essential household items before a nearby creek floods. With limited time, you must prioritize which items to save, leading to feedback on your choices. Designed to teach flood preparedness, the game continues with a tutorial on creating a "flood emergency kit," which emphasizes the importance of planning and readiness in disaster situations.

If you are 10 years old or older and located in the United States, you are invited to play Bodzin's game and help the team learn how the game promotes understanding of flood preparedness.  Flood Adventure plays best on a computer or laptop with an external mouse. Flood Adventure does require a computer with the minimum system requirements of 2.5 GHz Intel Core i3 processor and 2GB RAM. We recommend that you use Firefox or Chrome Web browsers.
