Megan Hauser Joins Research Team at Georgetown

Congratulations to Educational Leadership alumna Megan Hauser '24g. Megan recently started a new role as Project Researcher for the Family Benefits Lab at the Beeck Center for Social Impact + Innovation at Georgetown University.

In this role, she will collaborate with Maya Uppaluru Mechenbier in leading human-centered research to develop innovative interventions that connect young mothers with family benefits to help them meet their educational and career goals.

Megan says, "Stepping into this opportunity after the successful completion of my research with Linda K. Mayger at The College of New Jersey and The NJ Department of Education feels like a gift in such a tumultuous time. I’m thankful for the ways my previous role prepared me for this one and am eager to continue bridging research with practice to affect positive social change."

    School Psychology Program Represents at NASP

    Our School Psychology faculty and students represented the COE at the National Association of School Psychologists conference in Seattle last week. Among those presenting were Hannah Crespy, Nathan Kirk, Katherine Lopez, and Cate Blumberg (pictured with Dr. Ethan Van Norman).

    Kangas Receives Prestigious Grant from the Spencer Foundation

    Sara Kangas, program director of COE's Special Education and ESL programs, has received a grant from the Spencer Foundation through its prestigious Large Grants program. Kangas and Jamie Schissel, an associate professor of Teacher Education and Higher Education at UNC Greensboro, are the principal investigators for the project titled, "Individualized Language Plans for Multilingual Learners with Disabilities: Investigating Implementation and Stakeholder Perspectives."
