For instance, the National Center for Education Statistics reports that during the 2024-2025 school year, 74% of public schools in the United States faced difficulty hiring teachers to fill vacant positions. Furthermore, teachers indicate that a common reason why they leave the profession is they feel that teaching is an undervalued profession.
