Academic Programs

Dr. Charles is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). She earned her Ph.D. in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) from the University of Nebraska Medical Center's Munroe-Meyer Institute and her master’s degree from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. 

Dr. Charles has extensive experience as a clinical supervisor (BCBA), providing assessment and treatment for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities who exhibit aggression, property destruction, and self-injurious behaviors. She also served as a postdoctoral instructional scholar, where she developed and delivered high-quality instructional materials for undergraduate and graduate ABA courses. Her research interests include the assessment and treatment of severe problem behavior, functional analysis methodology and safety, and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in behavior analytic research and practice.
