Lehigh’s College of Education Awarded NSF Grant to Boost Students’ Geospatial Skills

The National Science Foundation has awarded $2.85 million to Lehigh’s College of Education and two other universities to further develop programs to enhance high school students’ geospatial skills, boost their literacy in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), and to better prepare them for STEM careers.
Tom Hammond, associate professor of instructional technology and teacher education in Lehigh’s College of Education, will be the principal investigator on the project, “Collaborative Research: Expanding Socio-Environmental Science Investigations with Geospatial Technologies in High Schools.”
