Curriculum
The Path to 60 program is designed for School Counseling graduates who need additional coursework for a License in Professional Counseling (LPC). The Path to 60 program was designed for Lehigh School Counseling (SCON) and International School Counseling (INCO) alumni, but it is open to anyone who holds a master's in counseling (or a related field) and is working towards an LPC or similar license. Each course is 3 credits, and courses can be taken in any order.
Recommended curriculum for INCO alumni and most non-Lehigh alumni:
- Fall - CPSY 465: Addictions: Assessment, Treatment, and Prevention Strategies (online asynchronous)
- Winter - CPSY 485: Advanced Psychopathology (online asynchronous)
- Spring - CPSY 466: Current Issues in Counseling and Therapy: Supervision in Counseling (online asynchronous)
- Summer - CPSY 455: Advanced Techniques in Counseling (online asynchronous)
Recommended curriculum for SCON alumni:
- Spring - CPSY 439: Theory and Practice of Group Counseling (class may be online or in-person)
- Summer - CPSY 430: Professional Seminar (class may be online synchronous or online asynchronous)
- 2 Electives - Choose from the above courses or work with your advisor to identify alternatives
Students interested in Path to 60 classes should apply as Non-Degree students. Path to 60 applicants must include a cover letter with their resume that details the requirements for the state where they are planning to apply for a license, and how they plan to meet the requirements (number of credits, required subjects, clinical hours, etc.). Lehigh alumni do not need to provide transcripts or proof of English proficiency with their application.
