The Center for Community-Driven Assistive Technologies (CDAT) Research Talk
The candidate received their PhD from Temple University. Their research is focused on partnering with community-stakeholders to develop implementation strategies that are feasible, sustainable, and appropriate for use in community settings, and that increase the use of evidence-based intervention strategies. Research Presentation Title: A Community–Academic Partnership Model for Advancing Autism Intervention Research Presentation Abstract: Community-based implementation of autism interventions often falls short of evidence-based practice, particularly in publicly funded systems serving marginalized and minoritized communities. This presentation will describe a long-standing community–academic partnership focused on improving the use of evidence-based practices for young children at increased likelihood for autism spectrum disorder within Philadelphia’s Infant and Toddler Early Intervention system. It will highlight a community-partnered research approach, including strategies for identifying and addressing barriers to implementation in real-world service settings.
