The College of Education has scheduled the final oral examination of Radhahari Ericson for the degree of Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership. The title of the dissertation is “The Role of Assistant Principals in Rural K-12 Schools.”
This qualitative case study examines how organizational structures shape assistant principals’ access to instructional leadership across elementary, middle, and high school contexts in a rural district. The findings introduce the concept of structurally mediated leadership, demonstrating how leadership access, scope, and sustainability are shaped by organizational architecture.
