Stop by the LETs Lab and play The Lehigh Gap Story, a VR learning experience developed by Lehigh RiVR Immersive Learning, a cross-disciplinary research and development lab at Lehigh. This event is part of LETs Play! a semester-long series of interactive events and workshops on emerging and innovative technologies. In partnership with the Lehigh Gap Nature Center, Lehigh University has developed a virtual reality field trip, The Lehigh Gap Story. Join us to take a virtual hike with avatar bird Brownie to learn about the environmental changes that occurred in the Lehigh River Watershed in Pennsylvania during the past two centuries as a result of the zinc smelting plant operation at the Lehigh Gap. Explore a series of 360° photospheres that contain interactive features to learn how a green mountainous ridge was transformed into a barren “moonscape” and how the area has been revitalized today. This area is a large EPA Superfund site that is now a natural wildlife refuge area.
