In response to a need for strategies to address student behavior concerns, the COE held a networking event, Strategies for School Leaders: Addressing Problem Behavior, on March 26 on Lehigh's Mountaintop campus. Julie Fogt provided an engaging keynote address along with opportunities for local leaders to share strategies with each other.

Nominations for the Percy Hughes Award for Scholarship, Humanity, and Social Change have been extended to May 15.
This is a wonderful opportunity to recognize a member of the Lehigh community who advances our culture of addressing the world's most pressing challenges with sleeves rolled up and an orientation towards real world issues. Award recipients are leaders who not only foster Lehigh's historic educational mission, values, and core beliefs but also push Lehigh in new directions and heights of excellence.

Undergraduate students can enroll in a new learning sciences minor this fall through the College of Education (COE). The minor is open to all undergraduates. Courses explore how people learn, communicate and problem solve. COE faculty member Allison Zengilowski teaches in the minor which focuses on real world problems. She emphasizes that learning sciences can improve learning environments and help prepare students for careers in a wide range of disciplines.

Lorelei Loveridge ‘26G is completing her M.Ed through the COE's International School Counseling program from Kuwait, where she is hoping to open her own private practice in the future to guide students on their future career paths. Loveridge has lived in Canada to the Middle East and pursued writing, music and taught English for 11 years at the Al-Taif International School in Saudi Arabia. She’s recorded two studio albums and has written an unpublished memoir. Having an extensive history of international travel and teaching, Loveridge found Lehigh's program to be the easiest pathway forward to maintain her international presence while earning a degree.

On April 29, The Girl Scouts of Eastern PA will honor Carolina Hernandez ’16G with a 2025 Take the Lead award, which honors incredible women leaders from the Lehigh Valley who are the positive role models and provide girls with the courage, confidence, and character necessary to make the world a better place.
