Deadline Extended for Award Nominations

Nominations for the Percy Hughes Award for Scholarship, Humanity, and Social Change have been extended to May 15.
 
This is a wonderful opportunity to recognize a member of the Lehigh community who advances our culture of addressing the world's most pressing challenges with sleeves rolled up and an orientation towards real world issues. Award recipients are leaders who not only foster Lehigh's historic educational mission, values, and core beliefs but also push Lehigh in new directions and heights of excellence.
 
All Lehigh University faculty members, staff members, and students (either graduate or undergraduates in good standing) who work towards implementing large, transformative ideas in the local, national, and world communities with grace, tenacity, and devotion are eligible. 
 
The award covers the calendar year prior to its being awarded. For example, the 2025 award will recognize accomplishments in January-December of 2024. Nominations may be submitted by current students, faculty or staff across all of the departments in the five colleges. Nominations must be submitted by May 15, 2025 at 5 p.m. via email sent to Robin Hojnoski, Acting Dean of the College of Education, at roh206@lehigh.edu. 
    Jiayan Zhu

    Zhu Selected for Graduate Life Leadership Award

    Congratulations to Jiayan Zhu, a recipient of the Lehigh Graduate Life Leadership Award. This award recognizes a graduate student in each of Lehigh's five colleges who exhibits exemplary commitment, leadership and service to the university's graduate student community and whose efforts have made significant contributions to graduate student life.

    Dylan Fedell

    Fedell Receives Classroom Grant, Awards

    Congratulations to Dylan Fedell, a student in the COE's Supervisor of Curriculm and Instruction certification. Fedell has received a Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees’ Stock the Classroom Grant. The Palisades High School science teacher will use the $5,000 award to start an aquaponics program at his school.

    Fedell was awarded a Pennsylvania Power & Light Corporation’s STEM (Science, Technology Engineering, and Math) Educator award in January to support his work in the classroom. He is also the recipient of a Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST).
