The College of Education has scheduled the final oral examination of Adelle Sturgell for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in School Psychology. The title of the dissertation is Intervening After Screening: Decision-Making Practices in a Large-Scale Reading Intervention.

The purpose of the study was to determine whether White and non-White students received different reading interventions after progress monitoring. Results indicate that although there were differences in White and non-White students in program administration, race was not a significant factor in adding a phonics-based intervention to the intervention program.
