Please join us for a symposium focused on the ADHD Life-Course Model across the PreK-College life stages. The ADHD Life-Course Model (or ADHD Life Transition Model) is a framework used to understand how ADHD evolves from a childhood disorder into a chronic, lifelong condition. This event will provide the community with lifelong developmental, cultural, and environmental resources and support for schools, healthcare, and families.

The event will be held on April 20, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Wood Dining Room, Iacocca Hall (Mountaintop Campus).

George Dupaul

George DuPaul 

George DuPaul, Ph.D. is professor of School Psychology in the College of Education and associate director of the Center for Community-Driven Assistive Technologies at Lehigh University. He has extensive experience providing clinical services to children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and their families as well as consulting with a variety of school districts regarding the management of and support for students with ADHD. 

He has been an author or co-author on over 280 journal articles and book chapters as well as 11 books and two videos related to ADHD and pediatricschool psychology. He is co-developer of the ADHD Rating Scale-5 widely used for screening, diagnosis, and treatment evaluation for children and adolescents with ADHD.

Arthur D. Anastopoulos

Arthur D. Anastopoulos, Ph.D., is the executive director of Empowering Student Success LLC and holds the position of Professor Emeritus in the Department of Human Development and Family Studies at the University of North Carolina at
Greensboro (UNCG).

Throughout his career, Anastopoulos’ clinical and research interests have focused on the development and implementation of evidence-based assessment and intervention strategies for individuals with ADHD across the life span.

Among his contributions to assessment, Anastopoulos was a member of the team that developed the internationally recognized ADHD Rating Scale-IV and ADHD Rating Scale-5 and was first author on a widely used text for practitioners entitled, Assessing Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder. 
 

Steven_W_Evans

Steven W. Evans

Steven W. Evans, Ph.D., is a professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and Ohio State University. 

His research is focused on the development and evaluation of treatments for adolescents with ADHD and related problems and school mental health. Evans is the founding editor of the journal School Mental Health (Springer Nature) and a Distinguished Professor of Psychology Emeritus at Ohio University.

 

 

Lee Kern

Lee Kern

Lee Kern, Ph.D., is a professor of special education at Lehigh University. Dr. Lee Kern's research interests are in interventions for students with social, emotional, and behavioral needs. Her most recent research grants are in the areas of college and career readiness for high school students with emotional and behavioral problems and education for parents of pre-school children with attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). 
 
Dr. Kern is also co-Principal Investigator on the Accelerating Research Translation project, funded by the National Science Foundation. In addition, she is director of the Center for Promoting Research to Practice and Lehigh University Autism Services.

 

Thomas Power

Thomas Power

Thomas Power, Ph.D., is professor of School Psychology in Pediatrics and Psychiatry at PerelmanSchool of Medicine of University of Pennsylvania and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. 

Power has been invested in research, teaching, and clinical practice for children with ADHD for his entire career, and he has served as director of the Center for Management of ADHD at CHOP for over 25 years. His research focuses on developing and evaluating interventions for children with ADHD, with a primary focus on implementation in schools and primary care practices. 

With George DuPaul, he has conducted numerous studies on the assessment of ADHD and its impairments for data-based decision making. In addition, with Drs. DuPaul and Ed Shapiro, he has been
committed to training doctoral school psychologists at Lehigh University in working across systems of care through the pediatric school psychology initiative. 

Power’s research is characterized by partnership-based methods focused on addressing the needs of children marginalized by socioeconomic disadvantage and assignment to minority status.
