Forge schools that change lives. Learn the knowledge and develop the skills necessary to lead excellent schools.
The work of building principals is so critical on many fronts. Through these courses, I am blessed to be developing such strong relationships with the aspiring principals. I enjoy meeting with prospective students talking about the program and helping them to believe they cannot only handle the coursework but also the leadership role.

Overview
The PK-12 Principal Certification at Lehigh University is a 34-credit PDE certification program with a mix of online and on-campus instruction. Students can combine this certification with an Ed.D. or M.Ed. degree.
Principals are the key to effective schools. Every aspect of a school depends on the leadership abilities of a principal. The decisions and actions of principals create the conditions that enable positive classrooms, lunchrooms, teams, performances, clubs, programs, and other school operations. Decades of research have demonstrated that effective and improving schools require talented and well-trained principals. Even though most principals do not directly teach, coach, or mentor students, they wield the power to organize schools in ways that produce maximum benefits for students.
Demand for School Principals
School districts operating in the 8 Intermediate Units surrounding the College of Education employ more than 700 principals and 550 assistant principals. The mean salary of the various roles range from approximately $105,000 to $135,000. Approximately 80% of these assistant principals and principals possess a master’s degree, with 5-15% having earned a doctorate.
