Thomas Named May Institute’s Director of School Consultation

COE School Psychology alumna Lisa Thomas ’12 Ph.D., NCSP, LP, BCBA has been named May Institute’s Director of School Consultation in Philadelphia, Pa. and surrounding areas.

A national nonprofit organization that provides services for autistic individuals and individuals with other special needs, May Institute has offered consultation and professional development services to schools across Massachusetts and in other states for more than 30 years.

Over her 25-year career in the education field, Dr. Thomas has implemented evidence-based interventions and services to school districts, state and county agencies, and other child organizations across 14 states, primarily in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware.

In her new position, Dr. Thomas and a team of May Institute consultants are collaborating with school staff members to assess and enhance educational programs for children and adolescents with diverse diagnoses and needs and co-occurring mental health disorders, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), developmental disabilities, emotional and behavioral disorders (EBD), attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and neurological disorders.
