Bob Boyer and Lori Anderson

Making Mountaintop a Better Place

Once a week, Lori Gallagher Anderson arrives on Lehigh’s Mountaintop Campus with fresh groceries for the food pantry housed in Iacocca Building. It is one of many volunteer activities that the College of Education program coordinator performs to support students.

Transporting all of those supplies into the building can be a challenge. “There are days I have my wagon piled high and multiple bags slung across each shoulder,” she laughed. But Anderson receives help from an unexpected source: a campus transit driver.

“One morning as I was struggling up the side steps to Iacocca, a bus stopped and a man hopped out to help me,” she said. That man was Bob Boyer. “Bob is such a great guy,” Anderson said. “Every time he sees me hauling the pantry supplies, he stops, takes some bags. and helps me carry the wagon into the building.”

Thank you to both Anderson and Boyer for making Mountaintop — and Lehigh — a better place.
