Dr. Diane E. Flisser

Adjunct Professor

One professional accomplishment that I believe has been significant was my membership on the Pennsylvania School Counselor Credentialing Guidelines Committee. This committee drafted the guidelines that led to our current certification which is a single PreK-12 School Counselor Certification.
Professionally I am interested in canine assisted therapy and the benefits dogs may provide when incorporated into a counseling relationship. Included in my interest is the training of the dog and the counselor as handler training. Most of my career has been spent working with children and young adults in schools as a school counselor, as well as in a private setting as an licensed professional counselor (LPC and NCC).
I belong to the American Counseling Association (ACA), the American School Counselor Association (ASCA), the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC), National Education Association - Retired, and the Pennsylvania State Education Association - Retired.

Professional interests include counseling children and adolescents, ethics, and school counseling.
