Dr. Julia Oltman
Julie Oltman earned her Ph.D. in Teaching, Learning, & Technology at Lehigh University. Her dissertation focused on game-based learning for elementary social studies. She has an M.S. degree in Kinesiology and B.A. degree in English, both from the University of New Hampshire. Her doctoral advisor was Dr. Thomas C. Hammond.
She currently teaches TLT 368 and 369 which explores geospatial technologies in teaching and learning.
Her research interests include game-based learning, computational thinking, geospatial tools, augmented reality, design, and social studies education.
In addition to her work in academe, she serves as the Assistant Athletic Director for Technology at Lehigh University.
Dr. Oltman lives in Pennsylvania with her husband and two sons.
