Perry A. Zirkel Award for Distinguished Teaching in Education

Recognizes a current, full-time faculty member in the College of Education. The recipient must:

  • Have a national or international reputation as a respected scholar,
  • Be respected by students and colleagues for rigor in teaching, and
  • Be recognized within the college of having non-inflationary grading standards

The selection of the award winner will be determined by a faculty committee appointed by the Dean of the College of Education. Full-time faculty, exempt and nonexempt staff, and students are eligible to submit nominations. Faculty are not eligible to win any given University Award in two consecutive years, in addition to eligibility restrictions that apply for certain awards. The appointed faculty committee will select the winner.
