Lehigh Alum Richard Gordon IV Named National Principal of the Year

Gordon '07G is credited with turning around a troubled high school in Philadelphia.
In 2013, Richard Gordon IV '07G became principal of Robeson High School for Human Services in Philadelphia, hoping to find the source of the problems he believed plagued the school, which was on the verge of shutting down.
Now, Gordon, who received his M.Ed. in educational leadership from Lehigh, has been named the 2021 National Principal of the Year by the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP). That follows Gordon’s selection as Pennsylvania Principal of the Year.

Ed Leadership Doctoral Student, Kadia Nichelle Hylton-Fraser, Selected as 2020-22 UCEA Jackson Scholar

Kadia Nichelle Hylton-Fraser, third-year doctoral student in Lehigh's Educational Leadership program was selected as the Jackson Scholar for 2020-2022 by the University Council for Educational Administration (UCEA). Kadia is a Fulbright student from Jamaica and her primary research interests include principal leadership, social justice practices of principals and educational leadership and policy.
Donna Ball, retired EHS Program Coordinator, Awarded Lehigh Hillman Nonexempt Staff Award

Donna D. Ball, newly retired department coordinator, of the College of Education's, Education and Human Services Department was awarded the Hillman Nonexempt Staff Award.
This award recognizes a member of the nonexempt staff for excellence in performance or for advancing the interests of the university; sustained excellence in performance that has major impact on advancing the department/university goals; and exemplary initiative and service.
Nicole Johnson, assistant professor of counseling psychology, Awarded Lehigh Hillman Award for Excellence in Graduate Advising

Dr. Nicole Lynn Johnson, assistant professor of counseling psychology was awarded the The Hillman Award for Excellence in Graduate Advising.
The award recognizes excellence in teaching, research or advancing the interests of Lehigh University. In that context, this award recognizes exemplary student advising defined as either: a) Guiding students through their exploration and pursuit of an academic course of study; or b) Assisting students in the development and/or completion of research related to their degree program.
School psychology doc student, Alicia Chunta, Wins APA Division 53 Innovative Research Poster Award

School psychology doctoral student, Alicia Chunta, has won the Innovative Research poster award from the American Psychological Association, Division 53 (Society of Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology).
This year the American Psychological Association's Annual Conference will be held virtually from August 6-8, 2020.
Amalia Garcia Santiago Recipient of 2020 Graduate Life Leadership Award

Amalia Garcia Santiago is the recipient of the 2020 Graduate Life Leadership Award.
This award is given to a student who has shown exemplary commitment, leadership, and service to the Lehigh graduate student community and whose efforts have made significant contributions to graduate student life.
Amalia is a first-year master’s student in the School Counseling Program in the College of Education.
