On May 7th, 2014 the Lehigh University School Study Council recognized two outstanding local superintendents for their hard work and dedication to both the students they serve and the peers they support.  Dr. Sandra Fellin received the National School Development Council (NSDC) award for Cooperative Leadership and Dr. Raymond Boccuti was presented the University Council of Educational Administrators (UCEA) award for Excellence in Educational Leadership.

For 35 years, Dr. Sandy Fellin has demonstrated continuous leadership in education in a variety of roles for local school districts.  As Superintendent of Saucon Valley School District, her focus remained on establishing a culture of high expectations for student achievement and building leadership capacity among the staff.  Dr. Fellin’s active involvement on the Lehigh School Study Council Executive Committee, helping to plan professional development for its members, has been invaluable.

Dr. Raymond Boccuti embodies the definition of a true servant leader.  He not only mentors educators within his own district, but he also has served as mentor to three Lehigh University students completing their central office internships and has participated as a committee member on two doctoral dissertations.  In addition, Dr. Boccuti has assisted with the design of Lehigh’s new Superintendents program serving as a member of the development team as well as designing and teaching a course in School District Financial Management

We at the Study Council are grateful to Drs. Fellin and Boccuti for their tireless efforts on behalf of students and in support of our membership. Congratulations and best wishes Sandy and Ray!
