Lehigh University Seal and Motto
"Homo Minister et Interpres Naturae," which translates loosely to "Man, the servant and interpreter of nature."

The Lehigh University College of Education is bound by a core purpose and values. These values permeate everything we seek to do through our faculty, staff, and students.

Our fundamental reason for being is to contribute to society by the creation and dissemination of knowledge through our graduates and the knowledge we create.

In fulfilling our core purpose, we seek to:

  • develop leaders and inspire innovators through shared learning and life experiences, personal and intellectual development combined

  • for students: prepare them to engage in a world community, be good and productive citizens and instill value of high standards
