Irem Bilgili-Karabacak, Special Education Doctoral Student Wins COE Student Leadership Award 

Irem Bilgili-Karabacak is a doctoral student in the Special Education Program. Irem’s service work within Lehigh University and beyond are exemplary.

She has been serving in leadership roles in several student organizations at Lehigh, as well as standing as student representative for university level committees. Her work helps promote inclusion and diversity both within, and outside of, the Lehigh University community.

Additionally, Irem does much volunteer work within the Special Education Program, for example, volunteering for Lehigh University Autism Services and mentoring her fellow doctoral students.

Exemplifying the best of Lehigh’s values, both in philosophy and action, Irem is well-deserving of the Graduate Student Leadership and Service Award.
