Are We In This Together? A Forum On Transforming Lehigh Into An Antiracist Institution

The Council for Equity and Community; Development and Alumni Relations; the Office of Diversity, Inclusion & Equity; Library and Technology Services; the Office of Multicultural Affairs; Student Affairs, and the Office of Student Engagement offered a forum on July 20, 2020 “Are We In This Together? A forum on transforming Lehigh into an antiracist institution.” 

The forum focused on what taking an antiracist posture means for Lehigh and some things Lehigh should consider as we move towards becoming antiracist. There was also time for input and recommendations regarding action steps Lehigh should plan to take in becoming antiracist.

Panelists represented a range of Lehigh perspectives. They were: Gary Chan, ’80 ‘17P, President of the LehighUniversity Alumni Association; Katherine Lavinder, Dean of Students; Christopher Liang, Professor and Chair, Department of Education and Human Services; Princess Neely ‘21G, Co-Chair, Graduate Student Senate D&I Committee; Donald Outing ‘22P, Vice President for Equity and Community; Courteney Parry ’22, President of Artists for Change and OMA Programming Assistant; and Nathan Urban, Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs.
