Dr. Susan Woodhouse is an associate professor in the Department of Education at Lehigh University. She obtained her Ph.D. in counseling psychology at the University of Maryland - College Park. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship with developmental psychologist and attachment researcher, Dr. Jude Cassidy. Dr. Woodhouse received a Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award (NRSA) Individual Post-Doctoral Fellowship from the National Institute for Child Health and Development (NICHD) to fund her postdoctoral research project, Attachment and Process in Intervention Outcome. She is interested in studying mother-infant relationships and how the early relationship between parents and infants can influence infants' developing understanding of self and others. She is also studies the psychotherapy relationship and process of psychotherapy. Finally, she is interested in research on preventive interventions to promote positive development in young children and infants.
