Diversity Committee (2019 - 2020)
The Diversity Committee serves in an advisory capacity, providing support and consultation to the College of Education (COE) and its academic programs regarding programs, policies, and practices that address and celebrate diversity in all of its forms and promote social justice, inclusion, and equity. The Diversity Committee was created in the 2006-2007 academic year in response to the 2005 recommendations made by the COE Diversity Taskforce, charged by Dean Sally White in the fall of 2003. The purpose of the committee was to undertake and oversee activities designed to enhance diversity in the College of Education. This includes oversight of the Multicultural Resource Center (MRC), support with diversity-related events hosted at the COE, administration of travel and project grant funding for students to engage in scholarship related to diversity, and other support as needed including guidance to COE faculty, students, and staff (e.g., curriculum, marketing, recruitment, retention).
